DIRECTIONS: For whole body application: Wash face and body free of make up or oils and do not apply moisturizer or deodorant. Pull your hair back and up and slip a shower cap over your hair to protect from discoloration. If you do not own one of our Airbrush Pop Up Tents, our best advice is to apply this spray in the shower. Apply with slow even strokes from side to side on the upper portion of your body and face. For your arms and legs, spray from top to bottom. When you are done, it is best to stand in front of a fan, or go over yourself with a hair dryer for between 2-5 minutes to make sure you are completely dry. Get dressed and enjoy. Color will deepen over the next 6-8 hours, so avoid contact with water during that time. For facial application: The face is the part of the body that will exfoliate the fastest. Lasting Envy is a wonderful product to finish off your make up routine in the morning and give you deep facial color. Wash your face and apply a light moisturizer. Apply light make up as you normally would, throw on your shower cap, step back into your shower, and spray from side to side. You should hold your breathe before you spray and make sure not to make any strained facial expressions as you are spraying (such as squinting your eyes). Just take a quick breathe and spray from side to side, starting at the top of your head, and finish with a quick spray across the color bones. In spray tanning, a tanning solution is applied by a technician using an airbrush or a spray gun (turbine systems) or, automatically by a spray tan booth. The tanning solution contains an active ingredient, Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) that reacts with the outer layer of skin, producing a golden brown color. The pigments resulting from a spray tan DO NOT provide UV protection. With most solutions the maximum generation of color is reached within about 12 hours, so the color will continue to darken after the initial application. Tanning solutions also typically have a bronzer that provides an immediate tan effect. Solutions that include instant bronzing are popular with most clients. Most of this added bronzer will come off in the first shower/bath after application. The color that remains is produced by DHA reacting with the skin. 2. What is DHA and how does it give me a tan? DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is a clear liquid applied to the body using an airbrush. DHA has been approved by the FDA for over 30 years for cosmetic applications, reacts with the amino acids in the outer layer of the skin. This tan lasts approximately 5 to 10 days depending on your life style and skin type. With follow-up applications, you can maintain your tan indefinitely. Also, use moisturizer on your skin daily to help keep you and your tan looking healthy. DHA works by interacting with the dead surface cells found in the outermost layer of the skin, producing color changes. As the dead skin cells naturally wear off, the color gradually fades, just like a genuine suntan. 3. What is the difference between traditional airbrush equipment and HVLP? Traditional airbrush equipment has a smaller spray gun, pressure tank, and demands more time and labor to apply a perfect airbrush tan.
