The drawing is a signed limited edition print entitled "Six Up Stagecoach" by Jack J. Wells, number 47/750. Jack J. Wells was born in the horse and cattle country of Oklahoma. He received an education of his western subject matter on a first hand basis. Jack and his older brother, Justin, both began drawing about the same time they began riding and walking. This early sibling rivalry helped quicken the development of their talents. They would often draw their own comic books just for fun.
Wells has had more than one hundred pieces of art published as limited edition prints, magazine illustrations, posters and program covers. From miniatures to murals, his works are shown and collected worldwide by museums, corporations and thousands of individuals
The frame was built by the seller out of barn wood off a early 1900's barn that has blown down in northern Utah. Roland has been a Park Ranger in Utah for 25 years, until he was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and no longer could do the job. He began building these barn wood picture frames top supplement his income.
The frame measures approximately 27 1/2"X32 1/2"X2 1/2". The print measures approximately 13 1/2"X19" and weighs approximately 10 pounds. |
